I should never have bought...

2 years ago, after long awaiting my own computer, I purchased a laptop. As far as I was concerned it was the best; it could do everything I would need and was reasonable enough for me to afford (£399.99). I was very pleased and it was extremely well kept. The laptop itself was very user-friendly and simple (Microsoft system).

For about 7-8 months it was great, but each time I’d charge it, the charger would become less responsive. Something was clearly wrong on the inside (not by me as you can’t get inside without taking the laptop apart). It progressed to the point when whilst it was charging you would have to hold the charger as it could not hold itself or find something sturdy enough to hold it. It continued getting worse and eventually refused to work at all. There was a 12-month guarantee and I received a new charger but nothing changed, a computer specialist also looked at it, but couldn’t work out what was wrong.

The screen then proved a waste too. I noticed the hinge that connected the screen and base was deteriorating. It got worse, and soon after, I lifted the lid and the hinge just snapped off, revealing all wires, which also appeared damaged. Despite this the laptop did work, it was still usable, though extra care was needed for opening/closing it. It soon became redundant as it wouldn’t charge. Yes, 13 months after purchasing, the laptop had no idea the charger was anywhere near it. It was finished and has since resided uselessly in my loft.
